JAS Certification Marks

The following are the various JAS Certification Marks (which are sometimes referred to as "Brands" or "Stamps"). Note that the brands shown below are provided to the certified mill with the content to be branded for that mill. An explanation of the Japanese on these brands can be provided on request.

Plywood For General Use
Plywood for General use is manufactured and JAS labelled to the JAS Standard – SE-1 Japanese Agricultural Standard for Plywood – MAFF Notification No. 233 (2003) and JAS Supplementary Regulations – ME-1 Labelling Format and Method for Graded Plywood – MAFF Notification 1999 (2005). Plywood for General Use is suitable for use in interior and/or exterior non-structural applications.

Concrete Form Plywood
JAS Plywood for Concrete Formwork is manufactured and JAS labelled to the JAS Standard SE-1 Japanese Agricultural Standard for Plywood – MAFF Notification No. 233 (2003) and JAS Supplementary Regulations – ME-1 Labelling Format and Method for Graded Plywood – MAFF Notification 1999 (2005).
Where this labelling is impractical the following labelling is acceptable:
Structural Plywood
JAS Structural Plywood is manufactured and JAS labelled to the JAS Standard – SE-1 Japanese Agricultural Standard for Plywood – MAFF Notification No. 233 (2003) and JAS Supplementary Regulations – ME-1 Labelling Format and Method for Graded Plywood – MAFF Notification 1999 (2005).

Structural plywood may be manufactured with adhesives suitable for use in exposed applications and/or in dry protected structural applications.
Structural Laminated Veneer Lumber
JAS Structural Laminated Veneer Lumber is manufactured and JAS labelled to the JAS Standard – SE-4 Laminated Veneer Lumber – MAFF Notification No. 701 (2008) and JAS Supplementary Regulations – ME-4 Labelling Format and Method for Graded Laminated Veneer Lumber – MAFF Notification 702 (2008). Structural Laminated Veneer Lumber is suitable for structural applications.
Laminated Veneer Lumber (non structural)
JAS Laminated Veneer Lumber (non-structural) is manufactured and JAS labelled to the JAS Standard – SE-4 Laminated Veneer Lumber – MAFF Notification No. 701 (2008) and JAS Supplementary Regulations - ME-4 Labelling Format and Method for Graded Laminated Veneer Lumber – MAFF Notification 702 (2008). Laminated Veneer Lumber (non-structural) is suitable for use in decorative and/or non-structural applications.
